INTRODUCING “DOWNTOWN LOVE TRAGEDIES (Pts I & II)”

We’ve been talking about it for more than 15 years and now we’ve finally made it! “DOWNTOWN LOVE TRAGEDIES (Pts I & II)”, the first ever split release between CUT and our soul mates Julie’s Haircut is going to be released on March 8, via Gamma Pop!

This luxurios 7” inch features two cover versions/mash ups of songs that are close to the collective hearts of both bands. Julie’s Haircut are awarding us with a sparse and tense version of funk soul classic “Who is He and What is He to You” by Bill Withers (mixed with bits of “Little Johnny Jewel” by Television). This little band from Bologna is getting busy with Hot Chocolate’s “Emma” spiced with “Dream Baby Dream” by Suicide. Balck and White, Julie’s and CUT unite!

Our version has been recorded in NY, during the “Annihilation Road” sessions and features Mr. Matt Verta-Ray (Heavy Trash) on Hammond organ and behind the recording/mixing desk. Mastering has been taken care of by Ivan Julian (Richard Hell and the Voidoids)

To our English speaking friends: our label of quality, Gamma Pop, has just reissued our debut album, Operation Manitoba, first released in 1998. Yes, we are that old even though we still look young, slender and handsome.
You can download Operation Manitoba via bandcamp or order one copy (cd only) via the Gamma Pop website. Or, if you're in luck you can buy one from us during our May 2013 tour of the UK (dates to be announced soon)!

Originally released in 1998 Operation Manitoba has been out of print for more than a decade now. Hope you’ll dig this journey through our dubious past.

The album will be officially released (on cd only, can’t afford no fancy vinyl this time around) on February 1st. You can order your copy via the Gamma Pop or Ghost records online shops.

We are extremely proud of and excited by the release of our first “official” live album!

“THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN – Live in the U.K.” is coming out this Saturday on legendary Italian indie label Gamma Pop. Recorded during our February 2011 UK tour, “BOB” is a true sonic testimonial of our live set. Most of the album has been recorded on 19/02/2011 at The Pilgrim in Liverpool, because we fucking love the place! From 28/09 you can listen to a preview of the album’s 14 tracks (and watch our brand new video "Annihilation Road") on www.rockit.it . From the beginning of next month you will find the album at our shows and through the Ghost Records/Gamma Pop on line mail order. It’s a limited edition of 500 vinyl records (with a glorious cover) so make sure you grab one while they’re still available!

INTRODUCING “DOWNTOWN LOVE TRAGEDIES (Pts I & II)”

Sono circa 15 anni che ne parliamo e ora, finalmente, ce l’abbiamo fatta: “Downtown Love Tragedies (pts I & II)”, il primo split condiviso tra noi e i nostri “soul mates” Julie’s Haircut, vedrà la luce l’8 marzo, grazie a Gamma Pop.

Il 7” contiene due cover versions/mash ups di brani cari a entrambe le bands: i Julie’s reinterpretano “Who Is He And What Is He To You” di Bill Withers (mescolata ad elementi di “Little Johnny Jewel dei Television), mentre noi mettiamo le mani su “EMMA” degli Hot Chocolate, sporcandola con elementi di “Dream Baby Dream" dei Suicide. Che dire? Black and white unite!

La nostra versione di “Emma” è stata registrata a New York durante le sessions di Annihilation Road ed è impreziosita dalla presenza di Matt Verta-Ray (Heavy Trash) che, oltre ad aver registrato e mixato il brano, ci ha regalato una robusta dose del suo tocco magico all’Hammond. Il mastering è sempre di Ivan Julian (Richard Hell and the Voidoids).

VENERDI’ 8 MARZO, OFFICIAL RELEASE PARTY al COVO CLUB di Bologna!
Un’uscita di questo genere richiede di essere celebrata a dovere. Per questo siete tutti invitati venerdì 8 marzo al Covo di Bologna per il release party del disco. Ovviamente suoneremo noi e i Julie’s, presentando per la prima volta i brani del 7” dal vivo, e potrete trovare le copie di “DLT” in tutta la loro gloria vinilica. Vi aspettiamo, CUTthere!!!

    OPERATION MANITOBA: BACK FROM THE GRAVE
“At last the secret is out…”: esce il primo febbraio la ristampa in cd del nostro esordio del 1998 Operation Manitoba! La ristampa è assolutamente fedele alla release dell’epoca e nasce dall’esigenza di rimettere in circolazione nel suo formato originale un album fuori catalogo da ben più di dieci anni ormai. Insomma è un po’ che ce lo chiedete ed eccolo qua!

Si incarica dell’operazione (appunto) la rinata Gamma Pop di Filippo Perfido. Il disco sarà disponibile attraverso il mail order di Gamma Pop e di Ghost Records. Il distributore per i negozi sarà invece Venus.

Per celebrare la ristampa del nostro primo album Operation Manitoba, Gamma Pop ha realizzato questo piccolo video per "Sound of CUT", omaggiando uno dei nostri film preferiti, "Switchblade Sisters" di Jack Hill.

Siamo orgogliosi di annunciare che il nostro primo album dal vivo “ufficiale” è in uscita questo sabato, primo ottobre, sulla rinata Gamma Pop Records! “THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN – Live in the U.K.”  è una fedele testimonianza sonora del nostro tour inglese dello scorso febbraio. L’album, disponibile solo in vinile, è stato registrato e mixato dal nostro compagno d’avventura Andrea Rovacchi, per la gran parte durante la data di Liverpool, la città inglese che è ormai diventata la nostra “home away from home”. Dal 28 settembre potrete ascoltare le 14 tracce di “The Battle of Britain” in anteprima su rockit.it e vedere il video live del brano “Annihilation Road”, realizzato da Andrea Dalpian. Dal primo ottobre invece potrete trovare “The Battle of Britain” ai nostri concerti o ordinarlo tramite il mail order di Ghost Records/Gamma Pop. Si tratta di una edizione limitata di sole 500 copie (con una copertina di un certo impatto…) quindi affrettatevi!

Lo shop online di Go Down Records invece è il posto dove andare per trovare “Annihilation Road” il nostro ultimo album in studio ora disponibile solo in vinile.
